Job Specification: Key Account Manager - Remote

Role Overview:

Our company is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Key Account Manager to expand our presence in the South American and African markets. This is a new position designed to help push our products into these growing regions. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in opening up new market opportunities, managing the entire sales cycle, and building a team for future growth. The role is urgent, and we are looking to hire as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Cycle Management: Lead the full sales cycle, from first contact with potential clients to securing recurring orders.
  • Market Expansion: Drive growth in South America and Africa, focusing on either the medicines, cosmetics, and medical devices
  • Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain relationships with key customers including online shops, wholesalers, and hospitals.
  • Team Building: While there will be no direct reports initially, the individual will be expected to build and grow a team as the market develops.
  • Reporting: Report directly to the General Manager on progress, challenges, and achievements in the new regions.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Industry Knowledge: A background in medicine, cosmetics, or medical devices is highly desirable.
  • Market Experience: Proven experience in the South American and/or African markets is non-negotiable.
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in Spanish or French would be highly advantageous.
  • Sales Experience: Strong experience in handling the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals as well as knowledge of parallel imports.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of stress, especially when facing disappointments or setbacks.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to build relationships with a diverse set of clients.

  • Managing the unpredictability of new markets with limited resources.
  • Handling the emotional aspects of overcoming disappointments and rejections while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Operating in regions that might not have fixed contracts or stable infrastructure.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Strong background and hands-on experience in sales or business development within either the medical, cosmetics, or medtech
  • In-depth knowledge of the South American or African
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently, and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • A proactive individual who can open new markets and build a sales team from scratch.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: Competitive and negotiable based on experience.
  • Bonus Structure: 4% of net margin (calculated as sales price minus purchase price and transport costs), paid quarterly.
  • Other Benefits: Negotiable based on location.
